June 5, 1967- Six- Day War commenced due to Israel attacking Arab air power. The Israelis greatly destroyed the Egyptian air force, their most powerful weapon.

June 11, 1967- Israelis had an outstanding military victory in the Six-Day War, and during the six days of war, Israel had become over two times larger in size.

1973- Yom Kippur War, ended with the unpredictable Egyptian-Israeli cease fire that humiliated Syria and put them at a military defeat.

1982- Israel invades Lebanon and seizes Beirut.

1987-1993 - First Intifada, which was an uprising of Palestinians against Israelis occupying the West bank and Gaza Strip.

March 22, 2004- In Gaza, an Israeli missile killed Sheik Ahmed Yassin, founder of Hamas, which was a militant Palestinian group.

2005- Israel leaves the Gaza Strip, pulling out Israeli settlers in the Gaza Strip and northern West Bank.

2014- After seven weeks of fighting which resulted in the deaths of over 2,100 Palestinians and 70 Israelis, Israel and Hamas agree on a cease-fire.
